Thank you Greg! I love that you are reading Shellphone Chronicles and enjoying my tall tales from the high seas. And thank you for your kind words - I am trying to make beautiful things in every way I can.
Linda, this is such a generous and quietly powerful way to mark the year!
Your poem says exactly what so many of us feel but don’t always articulate — that connection doesn’t depend on proximity, addresses, or permanence. It travels. It stretches. It finds us wherever we happen to be anchored (or unanchored) at the moment. “Every star above” feels especially right for this community.
I also love the evolution you describe — from postcards to email to Substack — not as a loss, but as a widening circle. There’s something deeply fitting about art and words moving freely when home itself is mobile.
Thank you for bringing beauty, steadiness, and courage into this shared space. Wishing you fair winds, meaningful crossings, and many moments of quiet magic in 2026. 💙
Linda — what a beautiful way to say that. I’m so grateful to be a small star in your universe, and even more grateful for the light you share so generously. Wishing you and The Cap a luminous, adventurous 2026. 💛🌍
Happy New Year to you and Gary! I remember celebrating another New Year's Eve at Foxy's in the BVI on a chartered sailboat many years, oceans and miles ago.
That was an epic time Kevin! And if you remember, thats the same trip where I picked up the conch shell on the forbidden back side of Virgin Gorda - the very conch shell that was the inspiration for Shellphone Chronicles.
From that little hurricane hole with a conch littered beach to a cold and blustery Chicago, the Shell Phone made its debut as a prop for our always entertaining product training. Pretty sure we were the only ones with sun tans...
Thank you for sharing your adventures. May the new year bring you smooth and safe sailing. Your creativity is amazing.

Gorgeous art work! I still love to live vicariously through your travels. Well lived!
Thank you so much! I appreciate that more than you can know. Sail on!

Dammit — you got me! Here’s hoping it sticks with you as well.
This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine,
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
There's an earworm for you today. hahaha
