Thanks Trekers. We just talked to another boat that was there a few weeks before us, and there were 4 boats there at the same time! We lucked out with our timing.
Great post. It's quite an adventure to explore the uninhabited. I previously sailed. I had the fear and excitement of being out in the middle of the ocean, and I wish I were an experienced sailor like you guys. I hit a reef in the Caribbean. Luckily, we got rescued because we were not alone. What a brave soul you are, Linda!
Thanks Alex. That's amazing that you hit a reef and had to be rescued. I hope to never have to do that. As far as being brave, you have whole different level of bravery to venture out on the LA freeways. Give me the open ocean over the 405 any day.
Hi Gerald! It was amazing. And I've since learned that Cast Away was filmed on another of the deserted islands in the Fijian Archipelago. Visiting Namena Island inspired us to watch it again. It would be fun to see it for real when we go out to the west side of Viti Levu.
Thanks Tina - I love that you were able to feel it! And thank you for the kudos - we forget sometimes that what we do really is on the edge, it just becomes our normal. hahaha I really appreciate your support of our adventure. Sail on!
Hi Karri - it really was a sight to behold. Not many things are worth getting up at 3:00 am for, but dark sky stargazing always is! Thanks for reading! LJ
Fascinating! That kind of isolation sounds heavenly, especially the dark sky and total absence of man-made sound. Iβm in awe!
Thanks Tina - it really is otherworldly. I wish everyone could experience it.
Amazing!! I canβt even imagine it!
It was amazing Reuben! Thanks for reading!
Wow, incredible. There is no substitute for that feeling of total isolation!
So true Andrew, and so very different from the places you have been lately. I experienced sensory overload just reading about the camel fair. π
Wow! I only can image this experience in my dreams :)
Amazing discovery, and kudos to you both for having the chutzpah to find it! -Ari

LOL! Very true, LA only allows masochists on the freeways
Looks amazing.

Thank you that amazing compliment Wendy! You made my day. ππ―ββοΈ Thanks for reading!
Wow, just wow. No safety net - on the island or out on the ocean. Just you both and the wilds. Amazing and deep respect. I was on the edge of my seat!
