I always wanted to go over Doggerland to see what lies beneath those waves. The whole town is down there.

I had to look this up to learn what Doggerland is. Thanks for prompting me to do so. Now I know.

We likely won't be sailing there any time soon, we're like flying fish - only happy in the tropics.

Wow, this sounds amazing! I think my husband would absolutely love to do something like this.

Maybe he would, and if he did, hopefully you would love to do it too. Otherwise it wouldn't work.

It is amazing, but its not for everyone.

I'd be happy to talk to you about it one day. Meanwhile I will continue to give glimpses into the experience in my Shellphone Chronicles.

Thanks for reading, Kristina! 💙

I like the idea, but I'm not sure how capable I am. He's extremely mechanically inclined, where I am not. I'm pretty good at teaching myself things when it comes to the arts, but I'm not sure if my skills would lend themselves well enough to living on a yacht.

There is a lot to it. Living on a yacht is one thing - some people do it and never leave the marina - but to me, that's just a like living in a trailer park with a marginally better view. The sailing and passage making and ocean crossing part is a whole other deal, and it's something we've spent most of our lives learning.

Making the leap to a life aboard isn't impossible, but it is many faceted.

Wondering if you are an upholsterer…. I think that you are whatever you put your mind to. I was thinking while reading this of the fact that you not only need to have everything you may need but you need someone on board who knows exactly where everything is stowed. I filled that role on each boat I worked on. So proud of you guys and the amazing things you have accomplished. Pleased to be part of your remote crew. 😎⛵️
